Numb The Interactive Newsletter You Never Asked For It's a Small World For it matters not how small the beginning may seem to be: One of the small things I try to do, is to "send love" within lucid dreams. A lucid dream is one in which the dreamer is fully aware that he or she's dreaming. In the Summer of 1988, at the behest of circumstances, I tried to "send love" for the first time... I stood, within the dream, and tried to focus my love on world leaders. (I'm not sure, but it feels more like acting as a lens rather than a projector -- quite the palpable sensation but hard to describe.) With my eyes closed, I reached out to the Middle East, the Soviet Union, and America before I was interrupted. I felt the love pouring forth as I embraced each leader in turn. Then an unexpected small voice inquired: Would you please send love to Jimmy Hayes? I opened my eyes (within the dream) and saw before me a little girl with blonde hair. She looked to be about five years old. Surprised to see her, I asked: How did you know I was sending love? To which she replied, with a matter-of-fact countenance: Because you were shining like a rainbow. To this day I regret not fulfilling her request (the dream ended there). I do, however, remain astonished by her answer. And I don't know how to make this make sense, but, even though she was in my dream, I don't think I dreamed her. Innocence, sometimes leaps to correct conclusions And, once again, Mother Teresa's sublime sentiment shines with an undeniable truth: We can do no great things A Penny for Your Thoughts |
