Numb The Interactive Newsletter You Never Asked For Leftovertures Each of us is born with innocence and promise... In every child who is born, under no matter what circumstances, and of no matter what parents, the potentiality of the human race is born again... As much as air and food and water, we need Love to survive. Without sufficient Love, a part of us withers... The tragedy of man is what dies inside himself while he still lives. "Aggression is the expression of frustrated expectation of love." What a profoundly perceptive observation. Do you find that Mr. Montagu's words have the ring of Truth? Do you believe, that in this world of illusion, Love holds the key to our salvation? In this house of make believe As we get wrapped in the details of daily life, do we hide our love away? Do we mistakenly believe this compromise is necessary? Might not this be one of the mistaken beliefs Ashley Montagu was referring to when he wrote: The majority of people believe in incredible things which are absolutely false. The majority of people daily act in a manner prejudicial to their general well-being. Would you agree that taking Love and tucking it "safely" away is a defensive mechanism? Maybe it's time we took a second look at this strategy. Maybe we should instead consider that old cliché: "The best defense is a good offense." Instead, how 'bout: Love me / Love you Hmmm? Of course, it's not so easy to think our way to Love, but it is necessary to begin to understand that our thoughts can be blocking our deepest, most profound feelings... Something we were withholding made us weak Is your left brain outraged by this notion? Mine is raging against the idea that it's responsible for blocking the flow of Love. It's bringing up all kinds of examples of how it operates in my best interest. At the root of its reasoning lies so-called realistic thinkingsad misconceptions and outright falsehoods: It's a matter of survival. Claims of self-preservation and self-defense are heard, but it's actually self-deception: Out there, it's the real world. Peter Gabriel seems to agree: Seeing things that were not there As does Barrows Dunham: The evil is not that you cannot change human nature. The evil is that human nature cannot change you. How 'bout you? There's a method to our madness, you know. That much is certain. The question is, can we break the bonds of our own programming? It is necessary; therefore, it is possible. Afterwyrd |
