Finally. The Hunger Site, The Breast Cancer Site, and The Rainforest Site are all up and running again.

If you missed it, here's what happened...

082001 Update: It's official. The investors pulled the plug but there's a chance someone might pick up the ball. Here's a blurb from this story:

"As an investment this was a disaster," said Goodrich. "But even though it was an unsuccessful financial investment it was a very successful operation from the standpoint of the benefiting charities. ...I am hopeful that the good work can continue and somebody will quickly get the site up and operating again."

In the hope (and belief) that someone will reload greatergood.com, I'll leave this page up. Meanwhile, I'll search for a suitable replacement.

Witness.org, co-founded by Peter Gabriel, might expose you to a little more of the dirty story but it's a worthwhile site (as is Amnesty International). Email me other suggestions.

Now here's the original page:

I've been hitting The Hunger Site first thing in the morning, every morning, for a few months now. It's an easy way to make a small difference. It costs less than a minute to let someone somewhere have a bit to eat.

I've gotten no unsolicited email -- no hassles at all. But even if I did, I'd still hit that site every day.

Do us both a favor. Bookmark that page and pass the word along.

No one should have to go hungry, much less starve.

This is the very least we can do.

Thanks!

Okay, it's been just about a year now and The Hunger Site has grown to include five other worthy causes.

Click on any of the links and you'll be taken there.

Note: The following links now lead to alternate ways to help if you are so inclined.

P.S. The T-shirts are pretty good quality, but you might try ordering a size larger than you usually wear unless you like 'em tight.
