The Matrix Another Message to the Masses Break on Through This is now an open passage A crossroads if you will ----- ----- ----- Pardon the interruption But considering the recent school shootings I feel it's important that we both understand what I mean when I said:    One more thought (for the time being)    The violence in The Matrix is graphic, but very definitely metaphoric in essence    Remember to look beyond the surface features and into the heart of the matter I've written about this in various forums, but I better make it clear here as well I feel that the violence in The Matrix represents an inner struggle But even if that's not the case Look at the violence objectively... Each time the rebels resorted to violent acts It bought them nothing but a few seconds to run And it cost them plenty They were fighting a war of attrition Rebels either ran away or died Agents were inconvenienced, never harmed Innocent bystanders died Not a real effective strategy Only when Neo demonstrated he'd transcended brute force did things change Then the agents ran away The answer wasn't about guns Wasn't about violence It was about transcendence How the brothers W are going to deal with this in The Matrix 2 and 3 is beyond me But if the rebels are still using guns I'll be sorely disappointed They've already demonstrated how futile those weapons are Okay, now back to the regularly unscheduled program ----- ----- ----- One way in (or out) used to be via the forum at Warner Bros But WB went and shot themselves in the foot And the other foot and the leg and the arm...
