Don't really know why, but on a whim I carried a notepad into the theater last Thursday. (And no, I don't typically take notes during movies. It was just a weird impulse.)

The following was drawn from ten pages of scrawled notes and posted at the Warner Bros. Message Board:

...It's only fair that I begin with an idea or two. Is anyone thirsty?

Did you notice the extensive use of water within the movie? A lot of wet stuff most would notice, but what about those street names? Of course Neo's rebirth after the red pill (and that glass on the table). So much more, but how ‘bout the empty shell casings falling like rain? Vivid to say the least. And the moment when (not to give too much away for those who haven't seen it) those things hang in midair. Did the sudden falling remind you of anything else you'd been shown over and over? A harmless shower instead of... Maybe this last one's a stretch, but it looked that way to me. And much, much more, if anyone's interested. This movie's one you gotta see more than once to digest.

Oh well, have a cookie and you'll be right as rain.

Miracles and wonders indeed
The circle closed last night... Easter Sunday

This place'll expand little by little
For now, you might perform a self-diagnostic
Check the ol' mental reflexes for wear and tear
Here's a metaphoric mirror

Should any of those ideas cause you to flinch
Ask yourself why
If you're able to pose and ponder that question
You might like the source of these six lines:

Trust is time to ask yourself, to find the strength to ask
Questions free the answering, unbinding them our task
Faith is time spent wondering, what we're meant to find
Imagine it's your purpose, adventure by design
Belief is time to listen, but who has time for that?
Especially when the answers, knock expectations flat

One more thought (for the time being)
The violence in The Matrix is graphic, but very definitely metaphoric in essence
Remember to look beyond the surface features and into the heart of the matter
We all know how, but sometimes we forget
Time has come today
Time to begin to remember

Oh, I almost forgot
If you find anything that touches you
Use it as if it were your own creation
I really do want to share all this
But I built this place in an attempt to find my own soul
Please forgive my selfishness
