Express Yourself!

These pages are examples of the website you will create this trimester. Your own site must include at least one page about yourself, your objectives in this class, your goals in life, your ideas for the school's website, a journal of what's new in your life, examples of your artwork, and at least three other pages.

Follow the links for specific details.

I've included a few examples from my own website to help you get started. Below you'll find what I've written on my own introductory page.

Getting it and Getting Around

As for the following pages and the content therein, I'd suggest checking those preconceived notions at the door. Some ideas here are a bit, um, unconventional.

Explore as you will, but consider reading Echoes prior to Dream Yet Complete. It might (re)position your perceptual reference frame to better understand my aversion to some of what we've come to know as "common sense."

Speaking of repositioning...

If you decide to explore in depth, you might consider adjusting the font size and/or browser window to maximize your comfort zone. The pages are liquid. Re-size the window and the text flows to fill the allotted area. You have the option to optimize this place to fit your preferences.

As much as I'd like to control the look and feel of these pages, it seemed more important to trade most of that control for simplicity and speed. I played around with graphic navigation bars and information-laden JavaScript rollovers but no matter how cool the graphics looked, I disliked the wait (for the page to load). Since the vast majority of us still rely on a dial-up connection (56K or smaller pipe) I stripped it all down to this (mostly) text-only version.

There's an enormous amount of content yet to be added as IX625 is a work in progress. Return visitors might want to check the What's New page for update info.

You can get around by using the links you'll find at the left of most pages. If you see no obvious links, click on the image and it'll take you to the next logical page. Direct links to specific pages can be found on the Site Map.

Dates are typically expressed as a series of six numbers. If I said that this site was launched on 022299, that'd mean it was initially uploaded on February 22, 1999.

Please contact me should you encounter any problems, broken links, or simply to suggest how this site might be improved. The occasional misspelled word and/or misquote will surely slip past me. Your help in eliminating this scourge would be greatly appreciated.

A final note: One thing I didn't expect when I launched this site was the steady stream of wonderful emails from you out there -- from all over the world.

My sincere thanks. You make the effort worthwhile.
