Books A Good Book is Hard to Find Recommended Reading This page'll be a mess while I sort the links in Uncomfortably Numb (where there's a lot of book links). Take a look through UnNumb if you want. It's worth a read. Here's a few books I can recommend with a certain degree of enthusiasm. If you have some suggestions, please pass them along to me. Oh, and please read this short explanation about the links. Eventually this'll be a very long page with detailed explanations. Fiction Earth / David Brin I wore out my first copy. If you don't like this look into Earth's future (the year 2038) by page 129, you probably won't like the next 500 pages. But what's not to like? Great characters, wonderful prose, and so entertaining that you won't even realize how much you've learned about our little spinning mothership. The Uplift War & Startide Rising / David Brin The best of the Uplift novels -- by far. Hyperion / Dan Simmons The whole saga is magnificently written. A little dark, but dang well done.
